Docker and Kubernetes have become the technical foundations of modern application architectures. Containerisation isolates dependencies, accelerates deployments and ensures application portability between development, test and production environments. Kubernetes orchestrates these containers at scale, manages restarts, auto-scaling and high availability. In French-speaking Switzerland, banks, insurance companies, retailers and public organisations are modernising their platforms around these technologies, which creates strong demand for certified profiles.
Following a recognised Docker or Kubernetes training opens access to structuring technical positions and to reference certifications: CKA for cluster administration, CKAD for application deployment, CKS for cloud-native security, KCNA and KCSA for profiles ramping up, and Docker DCA for full mastery of the Docker engine. Investing in a CNCF certification enhances your profile in a segment where the talent supply remains tight in Geneva, Lausanne and across French-speaking Switzerland.
ITTA offers a catalogue dedicated to containerisation and orchestration, from foundation level to advanced certification preparation. Our sessions welcome small groups, so each participant can practise on real Kubernetes clusters and progress at their own pace.
Whether you are a developer wishing to deploy applications in production on Kubernetes, a system administrator industrialising a containerised platform, or an architect leading the migration to cloud-native, our training in Geneva and Lausanne provides the practical skills expected on the Swiss market to pass your target certification and access the most sought-after technical positions.
Docker remains the basic building block of any containerisation path. Our Docker Fundamentals course introduces the concepts of image, container, Dockerfile, volumes and networking, with no prerequisites. The Docker Administration course goes deeper into production management: private registry, image optimisation, daemon security, CI/CD integration. The Docker Associate (DCA) certification preparation consolidates the whole for profiles seeking the official vendor recognition. These courses suit developers, DevOps engineers and Linux administrators who industrialise application delivery.
The Kubernetes path starts with the Kubernetes Fundamentals course, accessible to profiles already familiar with Docker. You discover Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets and Ingress through guided labs. The Kubernetes Advanced course addresses users already comfortable with the basics: fine-grained RBAC, NetworkPolicies, advanced scheduling, operators and CRDs. This progression allows each participant to target the level matching their project context without revisiting known concepts.
The three flagship certifications of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation are prepared in our dedicated sessions. The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) preparation targets administrators and platform engineers. The Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) preparation is designed for developers deploying their applications on Kubernetes. The Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) preparation deepens cloud-native security (RBAC, admission controllers, secrets, hardening, supply chain). These hands-on exams in real environments require genuine practice, which our labs reproduce in near-exam conditions.
For profiles wishing to validate their basics before CKA, we prepare the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) certification, recognised by the CNCF as the official first step. The Kubernetes and Cloud Native Security Associate (KCSA) certification is the security counterpart. Both exams, more accessible than CKA and CKS, allow a developer, a project manager or a cloud presales consultant to obtain official recognition of their knowledge without operating a cluster under exam conditions.
A starting developer follows Docker Fundamentals then Kubernetes Fundamentals, before targeting CKAD to formalise their skills. A system administrator or platform engineer combines Docker Administration and Kubernetes Fundamentals, then prepares CKA. A security profile chains CKA then CKS to become a recognised Kubernetes Security Specialist. A presales profile, project manager or consultant quickly leverages KCNA, or even KCSA, without advanced practical hands-on. A cloud architect combines CKA, Docker DCA and cloud certifications (Azure, AWS) to design complete cloud-native platforms in multi-cloud environments.
Here is a selection of reference training courses in this catalogue, accessible directly:
Containerisation is rarely isolated. Cloud computing training brings Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-305, AZ-400) and AWS that naturally complement Kubernetes in managed environments. The DevOps for development sub-domain covers Terraform, GitLab CI/CD and end-to-end automation. The CI/CD, versioning and delivery sub-domain structures the delivery chain upstream of clusters. The audit and cybersecurity training reinforces the DevSecOps dimension with CompTIA Security+ and application security. The programming languages domain deepens Python, Go and JavaScript, essential to develop robust cloud-native applications.
Several evolutions are shaping the domain in 2026. GitOps with ArgoCD and Flux is establishing itself as the deployment model for cloud-native teams, progressively replacing imperative pipelines. Supply chain security (image signatures, SBOM, attestations) is becoming central, which strengthens the relevance of CKS. Containerised serverless architectures (Knative, AWS Fargate, Azure Container Apps) are gaining ground for event-driven workloads. Native observability via OpenTelemetry replaces fragmented proprietary tools. AI agents (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) accelerate the writing of Kubernetes manifests and incident resolution. Our pedagogical content regularly integrates these evolutions to remain aligned with current practices in companies.
All our containerisation and orchestration training courses are available on-site in our Geneva (Route des Jeunes 35) and Lausanne (Avenue de Mon-Repos 24) centres, as well as in interactive virtual classroom with a live trainer. Our sessions are organised in 5-week cycles, which makes registration fast and planning smooth. Each session includes hands-on labs on real Kubernetes clusters, and most training paths target a recognised certification. Customised corporate training is also possible at your premises, in Geneva, Lausanne, Vaud or across French-speaking Switzerland, with a programme tailored to your internal stack. Several professional funding paths can be considered depending on your profile and employer.
ITTA is a certified training centre based in French-speaking Switzerland, official partner of CNCF and Docker. Our containerisation trainers are cloud-native engineers active in production projects for Swiss and international organisations, allowing them to share current concrete cases rather than purely theoretical materials. The catalogue regroups our training courses covering the most recognised CNCF and Docker certifications. Our pedagogical team supports you in choosing the right path, preparing the exam and identifying the funding options matching your professional situation.
Do I need to master Docker before training on Kubernetes?
Knowledge of Docker (images, containers, volumes, networking) significantly facilitates Kubernetes onboarding. If you are a complete beginner, follow Docker Fundamentals before Kubernetes Fundamentals. Profiles already familiar with Docker can move directly to Kubernetes Fundamentals then CKA or CKAD according to the target role.
Which Kubernetes certification should I choose between KCNA, CKA, CKAD and CKS?
KCNA is the entry-level certification, accessible without advanced hands-on and ideal for non-technical profiles. CKA targets administrators and platform engineers. CKAD is designed for developers deploying on Kubernetes. CKS is the security extension of CKA, for DevSecOps oriented profiles. Our pedagogical team guides you according to your role and current level.
How long does CKA preparation take?
The CKA preparation course lasts 4 to 5 days. Prior experience in Linux administration and operational use of Docker significantly accelerate preparation.
Are your Kubernetes courses available for companies?
Yes, the entire containerisation catalogue is available in-house, in Geneva, Lausanne and in virtual classroom, with a programme adapted to your internal stack. Our team builds the specifications with you, selects trainers and organises labs on clusters representative of your production environment.
