Adobe Creative Cloud, the creative suite that is more than just Photoshop

Adobe Creative Cloud is Adobe’s global software suite for graphic, photo, video, sound, web and e-learning creation. Launched in 2013, it replaces the former Creative Suite (Adobe CS6 and earlier) by moving from the perpetual licence model to the subscription model with continuous updates and cloud services. Today, Creative Cloud regroups around twenty applications covering all creative trades: Photoshop (photo retouching and compositing), Illustrator (vector drawing and logos), InDesign (document layout and magazines), Premiere Pro (video editing), After Effects (motion design and video compositing), Acrobat (PDF), Audition (sound), Lightroom (photo workflow), Dreamweaver (web), XD (UI/UX), Animate (2D HTML5 animation), Captivate (e-learning), Substance 3D (3D texturing), and more recently Firefly (integrated generative AI).

The strength of Creative Cloud is not just the list of software, but the mesh between them. Adobe Libraries allow sharing assets (colours, fonts, logos, photos) between all applications. Cloud Documents enable collaborative editing and mobile access. Adobe Firefly integration brings generative AI into Photoshop (Generative Fill), Illustrator (Generative Recolor), Premiere Pro and Express. Adobe Fonts continuity (formerly Typekit) offers access to thousands of integrated fonts. Substance Materials enrich Photoshop and After Effects. It is this transverse articulation that justifies a global vision, rather than silo learning per software.

This training for whom

The Adobe Creative Cloud – What’s New course is designed for professionals already comfortable with at least one Adobe software (typically Photoshop or Illustrator), wanting to take a step back on the entire suite, discover recent novelties, optimise their inter-application workflow and adopt new generative AI capabilities (Firefly). It does not replace a dedicated software course (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects) but allows structuring a global vision, identifying novelties per software and positioning their use relative to the rest of the suite.

The Creative Cloud course at ITTA

Adobe Creative Cloud – What’s New

The Adobe Creative Cloud – What’s new course is a panorama of recent Adobe suite evolutions and their articulation. The programme covers the global presentation of Creative Cloud and its main applications, Photoshop novelties (Generative Fill, Remove Tool, neural filters, Firefly integration), Illustrator novelties (Generative Recolor, Retype, vector 3D shapes), InDesign novelties (advanced PDF export, Cloud Documents workflow), Premiere Pro novelties (text-based editing, AI Speech Enhancement), After Effects novelties (AI rotoscoping, improved expressions), Libraries (asset sharing between apps), Cloud Documents (multi-device access and co-authoring), Adobe Express integration for rapid uses and social networks, and inter-application workflow best practices (moving a logo from Illustrator to InDesign to Photoshop without losing quality). A section is dedicated to Adobe Firefly and generative AI: what is possible, prompt best practices, rights questions on generated images.

Adobe Creative Cloud in the ITTA ecosystem

This course is the panoramic entry. To go further on each software, the ITTA catalogue offers dedicated courses. The root Adobe publisher regroups the entire catalogue (per software). Specialised courses cover Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat DC, Captivate, Animate and Dreamweaver. The graphic arts and DTP sub-domain regroups Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat training (DTP chain). The video-and-sound sub-domain regroups Premiere Pro and After Effects training (audiovisual chain).

Typical use cases of a global Creative Cloud vision

Complete DTP production chain

Photo retouched in Photoshop, logo created in Illustrator, brochure layout in InDesign, PDF export via Acrobat. Understanding gateways between software avoids quality loss and unnecessary retouching.

Video and motion design workflow

Importing and rough cutting in Premiere Pro, motion design and compositing in After Effects, Lumetri grading, final export for social networks or broadcast. Dynamic Link integration between both software saves time.

Large format or immersive production

Combination of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for large format print supports (banner, fair, packaging). Understanding print constraints and the graphic chain avoids bad surprises at printing.

Firefly and generative AI use

Background image generation in Photoshop (Generative Fill), illustration recolouring in Illustrator (Generative Recolor), rapid visual creation in Adobe Express. Understanding best practices and rights issues.

Creative Cloud trends in 2026

Several trends shape Creative Cloud in 2026. Adobe Firefly continues to gain power with increasingly realistic models, and integrates deeply into Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Express. Cloud Documents and co-authoring enrich, bringing Adobe closer to a cloud-first experience similar to Figma and Canva. Integration between software (Dynamic Link, Libraries, Substance) continues to mature. Mobile uses (Adobe Express, Lightroom Mobile, Photoshop iPad, Illustrator iPad) gain relevance, especially for rapid communication and marketing profiles. Competition with Figma (UI/UX, Adobe attempted an unsuccessful acquisition) and Canva (rapid mass-market creatives) influences the evolution of Adobe Express and XD.
