Description

This 5-day course is the second level of LPIC-1 certification.

Participant profiles

  • Anyone who needs to perform command line maintenance, install and configure a computer running Linux and configure the base network

Objectives

  • Customize shell environments to meet user needs
  • Customize existing scripts or write new simple bash scripts
  • Query databases and manipulate data using basic sql commands
  • Install and configure x11
  • Describe the basic features and configuration of the lightdm display manager
  • Add, delete, suspend, and edit user accounts
  • Use cron or anacron to run tasks at regular intervals and use them to perform tasks at a specific time
  • Configure the syslog daemon
  • Manage print queues and user print jobs by using cups and the lpd compatibility interface

  • Lesson 3: Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) Basics
  • Lesson 4: Manage Printers and Printing

Module 5: Basic Principles of Networking

  • Lesson 1: Basics of Internet Protocols
  • Lesson 2: Basic Network Configuration
  • Lesson 3: Basic Network Troubleshooting
  • Lesson 4: Configure Client-Side DNS

Module 6: Security

  • Lesson 1: Perform Security Administration Tasks
  • Lesson 2: Configuration Host Security

  • This course prepares you to the LPIC-1 201: Linux administrator II exam. If you wish to take this exam, please contact our secretariat who will let you know the cost of the exam and will take care of all the necessary administrative procedures for you.
