Description

PRINCE2 Agile® is probably the most appropriate project management approach, combining the strengths of the governance and controls of PRINCE2® with the flexibility and responsiveness of an agile context. PRINCE2® focuses more on directing and managing projects, while Agility focuses more on product delivery. Combining the three project’s areas, all main aspects of a project are now addressed. This course is designed to demonstrates to attendees how PRINCE2® and Agile are working together and how they interact using an approach tailored to suits your projects’ environment.

This Bundle includes the following courses that you can take separately:

Participant profiles

  • Agile professionals, project managers and aspiring project managers who want to be able to combine PRINCE2® and Agile in the most effective way when using PRINCE2®, Agile behaviours, concepts, frameworks and techniques
  • Other key delivery team staff, including: product owners, Scrum Masters and developers

PART 1: Foundation (2 days, exam included)

Module 1: Understand the key concepts of PRINCE2® and Agile

  • Lesson 1: Introduce to PRINCE2® Principles
  • Lesson 2: Explain purpose of PRINCE2® themes
  • Lesson 3: Explain purpose of PRINCE2® processes
  • Lesson 4: Explain purpose or PRINCE2® management products
  • Lesson 5: Explain responsibilities of PRINCE2® roles

Module 2: Understand the key concepts of PRINCE2 Agile®

  • Lesson 1: Explain how PRINCE2 Agile® is used in a project context
  • Lesson 2: Introduce to some suitable agile ways of working (frameworks), such as Kanban, Lean startup, Scrum
  • Lesson 3: Understand the need to ‘blend and weave’ PRINCE2® with agile at all levels of a project (directing, managing, delivering)
  • Lesson 4: Describe roles , responsibilities and competencies of a PRINCE2 Agile® delivery team

Module 3: Understand how PRINCE2® elements may be tailored / applied in an Agile context

  • Lesson 1: Explain how PRINCE® principles are applied in an agile context
  • Lesson 2: Explain PRINCE2 Agile® behaviours
  • Lesson 3: Explain PRINCE2 Agile® guidance for each PRINCE2® theme
  • Lesson 4: Explain PRINCE2 Agile® guidance for each PRINCE2® process
  • Lesson 5: Explain PRINCE2 Agile® guidance for tailoring some key PRINCE2® management products
  • Lesson 6: Explain what to fix and what to flex

Module 4: Understand agile ways of working

  • Lesson 1: Define some Agile terms
  • Lesson 2: Explain key Agile concepts and techniques

Module 5: Understand focus areas in an agile context

  • Lesson 1: Explain PRINCE2 Agile®  focus areas


PART 2: Practitioner (3 days, exam included)

Module 1: Overview of Agile

  • Discover the main aspects of the agile ways of working (including the Agile Manifesto)

Module 2: Overview PRINCE2® and Agile blending

  • Understand the purpose and the context for combining PRINCE2® and agile ways of working
  • Why and how flex the 6 aspects of performance of a project (time, cost, scope, quality, risks, benefits)

Module 3: Stating Up a project and Initiating a project

  • Determine what needs to be adapted at PRINCE2® level, how and to which extend
  • Focus on outcomes rather than on outputs
  • Define epics and releases

Module 4: Organisation, roles and responsibilities

  • Embed PRINCE2® and Agile roles to ensure a good communication, delegation, decision-making, and delivery

Module 5: Using Agile

  • Evaluate to which extent project’s context is ready to apply agile ways of working

Module 6: Scrum

  • Introduction to the Scrum agile framework

Module 7: Plan, Progress and Quality

  • Develop and evaluate (grooming) the Product Backlog
  • How to monitor progress and to communicate current status
  • Manage quality (user stories, definition of “done”)

Module 8: Controlling a stage, Managing stage boundaries, Directing a project and Closing a project

  • Determine how to deal with PRINCE2® execution and control processes
  • Frequent releases, review, retrospective

Module 9: Kanban method and Lean Start-up

  • Introduction to the Kanban Method and to the Lean Start-up agile framework
  • Preparation for the examination
